Once I started getting enough decent digital photos with my Digital Rebel, I
started thinking about how I could display them on my webspace with as much
detail as possible. Since most monitors can't cope with an image that's over
3000 pixels wide (or tall) without shrinking it, I immediately turned to Flash
and some form of mouse-based panning. This version was a quick test to see how
feasible this project was, and the entire thing was put together on a whim in
about 30 minutes. The photo is one that I took at the
North Carolina Museum
of Natural Sciences in the same room where the
Acrocanthosaurus skeleton is. Clicking on the screenshot below will open up the Flash movie in a new window.
